Our giggle-inducing game, My Underwear, was purpose-designed for young children and those who are young at heart. But now it has also been certified safe by the KidSafe^® Seal Program. The Thumbs, while at times we seem a little warped and demented, have little digits too (also known as kids). So we are extremely proud to be a part of this program as we strive to keep little thumbs and little eyes protected as long as we possibly can.

The resident thumbs already knew that 6DOH (Six Degrees Of Hollywood game for iPhone and iPod touch) was awesome, but now the kind reviewers across the pond in England have stamped their seal of approval on it too. 6DOH was auspiciously selected for The Sunday Times App List, where less than 1/10 of a percent of all apps make the cut!

According to Matt Bingham’s review,

“Six Degrees of Hollywood [6DOH] is a film trivia game based on the game where you try to connect any actor with Kevin Bacon via no more than six films. You’re given two actors at random and have to get from one to the other by jumping from co-star to co-star. The faster you make the link and the fewer the number of films you need to do it, the higher your score. Play against the computer or a friend online. Clever and fun.”

Un-conferences, hackathons and pretty much anything current, tech and open-source is all the rage these days. Well, far be it from the Thumbs to be out of date. Thumb Arcade is an official sponsor of Beaver BarCamp 8 – the eighth “unconference” at Oregon State University in Corvallis, OR. This all-day conference will host speakers, sessions and even speed-hack groups throughout the day (10am to 6pm) on October 29th, 2011.

Thumb Arcade is sponsoring a speed-hack session, so get your “brain” on and attend. You might just wind up with a job at the next great tech startup! We’re also speaking at a session on Self-Published apps on behalf of “Selfpubd“. For all you game and app enthusiasts out there, this is THE place to be if you want a co-op style publisher backing you up!

Many of you already know that we’ve been collaborating a lot with “Apps For Children With Special Needs”, aka A4CWSN, and it’s founder Gary James. Gary’s doing a fantastic job of helping parents and educators find and discover wonderful apps for children with special needs. As a father of 6 children, two of whom have special needs, Gary is deeply invested in the cause – even though we have no idea where he finds the time!

Tomorrow, Sat June 11th, is the Facebook app party with A4CWSN. They’re giving away iPads loaded with apps. There will be app specials, app giveaways and more! Be sure to register at Facebook and attend.
